Privacy Policy
This is a plain-language template, not reviewed by a lawyer. Replace it with counsel-reviewed language before relying on it for real compliance obligations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).

What we collect
- Your email address and a hashed (never plain-text) password, when you create an account.
- The podcasts you search for and episodes you view, so recently-searched feeds can be shown to you.
- Recommendations you save, tied to your account.
- Billing information when you subscribe — your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them.
How we use it
To run the service: authenticate you, remember what you've saved, enforce free-plan usage limits, and process subscription payments. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it to anyone.
Who else sees it
We share the minimum necessary with the services that make the product work:
- Turso — hosts our database (your account, saved recommendations, usage history).
- Anthropic (Claude) — reads episode transcripts to extract recommendations. It does not receive your account information.
- AssemblyAI — transcribes podcast audio. It receives the audio URL, not your account information.
- Stripe — handles all billing. We only ever see your subscription status, not your card details.
- Vercel — hosts the app and provides anonymized, aggregate usage analytics.
Cookies
We set exactly one cookie: an HttpOnly session token so you stay logged in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Your account data is kept until you delete it. Account deletion (available anytime from your account page) is immediate and permanent — it removes your saved recommendations, usage history, and cancels any active subscription.
Children
Pods & Recs is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
